HOUSE | MALVEIRA DA SERRA
The project aims to create a seamless integration between the house and its surrounding environment.
The design of the house was significantly influenced by the land’s topography, situated in an area with a pronounced slope and exposure to strong winds and harsh weather typical of the region. Consequently, the relationship with the land and nature became crucial in the project’s development.
A concrete wall meanders along the southeastern side of the land, creating patios and bringing sunlight and shadows inside. To the northeast, a second concrete wall, straight and sharp, protects the house and garden from the north wind while providing privacy. At the level of the existing slope, a slab made of raw concrete rests atop these walls. This green roof, covered with native plant species, enhances the relationship between the house and the land, minimizing the construction’s impact.
The northern entrance features an exterior parking area that connects the street level to the house, initially shielded by the concrete wall, awaiting discovery.
Facing the garden with a glass façade, the house showcases the stunning view of the hills.
